The Chocolate

Oct 10, 11 The Chocolate

Sin, temptation, and death are words familiar to most living in Provo. But, in this case, they’re all synonymous for chocolate and have never been so divine.

The Chocolate OremThe Chocolate is a quaint little café that sits on historic State Street in Orem and has become the local dessert lover’s fantasy. If you’re looking more for a cupcake specialty shop, I would recommend Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe. But The Chocolate is all about, you guessed it, chocolate itself. From the stairs outside your senses awaken as the sweet smell of chocolate and fresh cake pours from out of the building. Then you walk in. Your mouth begins to water and your eyes expand as you begin to question whether or not what you’re seeing is real.  Nothing has ever looked so good.  Then you turn around.  Not only is everything on the menu amazing, the atmosphere of The Chocolate is a fairytale of relaxation and the perfect place to hang out.

Though cakes such as the Cherub, the Husband, and the Brooklyn Blackout, are common transgressions my friends and I partake in, the cazookies (seen at the left) are my personal favorite.  A giant (and I mean giant) chocolate chip, peanut butter, or white macadamia cookie freshly baked and still hot from the oven smothered with large scoops of cold vanilla ice cream.  Don’t forget a glass of milk!

Something about The Chocolate reminds you that childhood never abandons the heart and you’re never too old to enjoy dessert. While it may be a little further away and there are other dessert places closer, this is definitely a place you won’t mind making a trip for. Tempt your taste buds and try The Chocolate.
