Bonfires in South Fork, Provo Canyon
South Fork Park in Provo Canyon is a fantastic place to have a bonfire on a cool summer night. If you head up Provo Canyon about 5 miles to you will see a sign for Vivan Park, the end of the Provo River Parkway Trail. If you turn in to Vivian Park but keep driving through you will start heading up South Fork Rd. This is a beautiful offshoot of Provo canyon that has a good biking trail. About 1.5 miles up the road on your right however, is a great park to have a bonfire in. There are several picnic tables and a majority of them have fire pits next to them. Bring along stuff for making s’mores, roasting hot dogs, or if you’re looking to try something new, try roasting Starbursts. No joke, it tastes great! In the summer these fire pits can get crowded with college students (as do all the fire pit locations in Provo Canyon). But never fear there is a bridge across the river that gives you access to even more fire pits and a little more privacy and seclusion.
