True Blue Football

Oct 05, 11 True Blue Football

You could say that the defining  moment during BYU’s homecoming week is hiking up to light the ‘Y’, checking out BYU Spectacular!, or voting at the annual Mr. BYU contest. Sure, you might even contend that the “must-not-miss” events are the BYU football game on Saturday and the Homecoming Dance.

True Blue 2011But I am here to proclaim that while TRUE BLUE FOOTBALL is still alive and well, that is the defining, must-not-miss, never-to-be-forgotten, epic event that occurs every BYU Homecoming week.

True Blue Football is the annual excuse every BYU student has to get absolutely filthy in the name of expressing school spirit! The essence of the event is foam—lots and lots of it!

BYU pumps out hundreds of gallons of blue foam throughout the course of the activity. This keeps the fields piled with a couple feet of slick foam. The main attractions are: coed football games, general horsing around with the friends, and, perhaps the most popular—the fast slip ‘n slide.

The slip ‘n slide is definitely the highlight for me. The slide starts at the top of the hill at the east end of the fields and gives an exhilarating 50’+ slide.

This year have fun and join the nearly 2,000 BYU students that make their annual pilgrimage to Helaman Fields for True Blue Football! For years the event has always taken place at Helaman Fields in the late afternoon on the Thursday of Homecoming week. Below is the information for this year’s event:
